The Cargo Shed
The Cargo Shed located on Dive Crescent, Tauranga has been operating since November 2004. In April 2009 Creative Tauranga Charitable Trust took over the management of The Cargo Shed with the vision to provide a multifunctional space that will grow and enhance the local arts sector. Creative Tauranga will work towards developing more exhibition opportunities, art making spaces for local artists and a vibrant market filled with New Zealand made, New Zealand designed products and services together with Tauranga based Charitable Trusts. The purpose of Creative Tauranga is to empower and inspire participation in creativity. The Cargo Shed is an opportunity for local and national artists to exhibit and sell their high quality original artworks. Arts and Crafts include carving, ceramics, drawing, fiber, glass, jewellery, leather, metal, mixed media,music, painting, photography, printmaking, textiles, toi maori, sculpture, weaving, wood, specialty items and more. Creative Tauranga provides practical support for artists and art groups: from those just starting out to experienced artists.
An opportunity to see demonstrations by artists and art groups, find that unique gift you are looking for, be entertained by buskers, poets or story tellers and much more. Businesses, schools, individuals and/or commiunity groups have an opportunity to rent exhibition space for private events on application. Interested?
