Te Puke, the shining jewel in our bountiful Bay of Plenty fruit-growing region, is hosting a six-week event to coincide
with Rugby World Cup 2011 celebrations.
ARCH Te Puke will provide a dynamic visitor experience, showcasing regional rugby history from the three main clubs - Eastern Districts, Rangiuru and Te Puke Sports Clubs - including Te Puke High School 1st Fifteen and the historical Tai Mitchell Tournament. This collection of memorabilia and historic rugby items will establish a legacy for future generations of rugby enthusiasts.
ARCH Te Puke Art Exhibition ‘Our People – Our Place – Our Region’ is an invitation to local artists to take part in this themed exhibition celebrating our Bay of Plenty Lifestyle, Heritage and Culture. Opening night is 21 October. The winner of the judged exhibition will win a prize package valued at $950, kindly donated by Creative Tauranga.
ARCH Te Puke is also collaborating with several community groups - The Tauranga Regional Multi Cultural Council will be exhibiting costumes and treasured items from their ‘suitcase exhibition’; Creative Te Puke Forum will be hosting the popular ‘Pecha Kucha’ evening; along with other events and very generous support from Te Puke Lions, Kiwi Coast Lions, Te Puke and Maketu Rotary Clubs and Focus Te Puke.
ARCH Te Puke brings a display of Art, Rugby, Culture and Heritage to this exciting venue in the heart of this historical town, the Kiwifruit Capital of the World.
